Building pyrmit: An AI platform
Independently conceived, designed and engineered—from product strategy through full-stack AI development and deployment.

pyrmit is an AI platform for researching building code regulations across municipal, county and state sources. I independently conceived, designed and engineered the product in response to the fragmented regulatory research involved in evaluating a property in Bend, Oregon. My work spans product strategy, UX and visual design, full-stack development, retrieval-augmented generation, source management, deployment and ongoing operations. The platform translates complex regulatory language into plain English and grounds responses in regulatory documents while providing references to each specific provision cited. Current users include real estate professionals, builders, architects, investors and home renovators.

A closer look
Built with Python/Flask, PostgreSQL and FAISS, the system combines semantic search with source-specific ingestion and ranking. I used AI-assisted development tools throughout implementation, with automated monitoring and review workflows supporting ongoing source updates.
