A designer’s eye.
A leader’s perspective.

I’m a creative director based in Central Oregon, with experience across brand campaigns, digital experiences, and product design. I’ve worked both in-house and at an agency, guiding multidisciplinary teams and partnering with clients from initial strategy through production. My focus is on developing people, setting clear creative direction, and carrying ideas through to the work people see and use. That same curiosity has led me into applied AI—from developing creative workflows for global brands to creating an AI application and using AI-assisted development to build digital products.

Experience

pyrmitFounder · AI Application Developer & Product Designer2024—Present

I founded pyrmit after encountering the difficulty of researching building regulations while evaluating a property in Bend, Oregon. What began as a problem I wanted to solve for myself became a live product for navigating municipal, county and state building-code requirements. As its sole contributor, I have led product strategy, user discovery, UX and visual design, full-stack development, deployment and ongoing operations.

I designed a retrieval-based AI system that grounds answers in regulatory documents and links them to specific provisions. My work includes organizing the underlying sources, shaping the research experience and maintaining the application. Conversations with real estate professionals and feedback from users inform the product’s priorities and continued development.

Aquent StudiosCreative Director · Generative AI Design Lead2022—Present

I lead a multidisciplinary team of 20 designers, copywriters and motion designers, directing creative strategy and execution for Fortune 500 clients. My responsibilities span team development, client partnerships, presentations to executive stakeholders and collaboration with external agencies and vendors. Across brand, campaign and digital assignments, I connect business objectives with clear creative direction and support the team from initial concepts through production.

As the studio’s generative AI design lead, I also research and develop practical approaches to creative production, including custom image models, pre-production imagery and reusable workflows. This work includes model development for General Motors, visual direction for Starbucks photo shoots and exploratory workflows for Nike. Alongside individual projects, I develop brand guidelines, component libraries and production systems that help teams maintain consistency across their work.

Bass Pro Shops & Cabela’sSenior Creative Manager2021—2022

I directed brand strategy and visual identity across more than 25 brands, leading and mentoring designers within a creative department of more than 50 people. Working with marketing, product and business teams, I developed guidelines and creative direction across retail, digital and live experiences. Major initiatives included Missouri Thunder, Ascend Adventure Bikes and World’s Fishing Fair, each requiring a coordinated approach across many different touchpoints.

My role also covered photo and video production, from concept development and casting through art direction and post-production. I established an in-house photography capability and directed content for product launches, seasonal campaigns and e-commerce, including product-detail and instructional videos. This combined ongoing brand stewardship with the practical work of planning productions and guiding teams through delivery.

GoProAssociate Creative Director · Contract2020—2021

I returned to GoPro as a contract Associate Creative Director, leading four designers and a copywriter on the Quik brand and its planned launch. I directed the development of the logo, visual identity and website, establishing a system GoPro adopted during the contract for its planned public release. I set creative direction, assigned work, reviewed deliverables and supported the team through feedback and final approvals.

Working with brand, product and development partners, I extended that direction into campaign concepts and product UI recommendations. These included screen mockups and guidance on typography, color, iconography, navigation and onboarding. Regular reviews with creative and product leadership kept the brand work, launch planning and product recommendations aligned.

Williams-SonomaDigital Creative Manager2019—2020

I led a 25-person digital creative team supporting Pottery Barn Kids, Pottery Barn Teen and partner brands. The team produced website creative, seasonal campaigns and daily promotions across two major e-commerce platforms. I partnered with editorial, email, merchandising and other Williams-Sonoma creative teams to connect the work across channels while maintaining each brand’s identity.

My work included visual strategies for licensed Marvel and Hello Kitty launches, homepage and landing-page design, and interactive microsites with product-comparison and seasonal discovery features. The role combined team leadership with hands-on digital direction, balancing a busy retail calendar with consistent design and a clear shopping experience.

PlayStationSenior Concept Designer2017—2019

I developed concepts and designed launch creative for first- and third-party PlayStation titles across packaging, retail, digital and events. My lead-design assignments included Death Stranding, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Monster Hunter: World. Working with international marketing teams and external creative partners, I adapted each title’s visual identity across formats and reviewed work to maintain a consistent presentation.

I also contributed to other designers’ projects, including God of War, and designed the U.S. packaging for PlayStation Classic. My concept for the Death Stranding Limited Edition PS4 was selected for production. Beyond individual launches, I reviewed junior designers’ work, presented to leadership and helped establish an in-house photography department for prototype documentation.

GoProSenior Digital Designer, Brand Services2014—2017

I designed digital creative for GoPro’s product launches, services and community initiatives, with email as my primary focus. I created and built a modular email system used across launch and lifecycle campaigns, including HERO5, Karma and GoPro PLUS. Working with art directors and a small digital team, I also designed websites, landing pages and online advertising within GoPro’s established visual language.

My work extended to GoPro for a Cause, the Support Hub and the GoPro Awards landing page, each with a different audience and purpose. I also worked on content integrations for Xbox, Roku and Windows, collaborating with Microsoft on app design and content delivery. Regular presentations to brand leadership and collaboration with product and engineering teams were part of the role.

TOMSDigital Designer2013—2014

I designed seasonal creative for TOMS.com and the brand’s weekly email campaigns, bringing product and lifestyle imagery together within an established visual system. Much of the email work used existing templates, with quick turnarounds and frequent seasonal updates. I collaborated with the digital team, photographers and merchandisers on homepage, banner and product-page layouts, and supported the coffee and eyewear launches through digital creative. Design critiques with art directors and copywriters helped refine the work before delivery.

DODOcaseDesign Director2010—2013

As DODOcase’s sole multidisciplinary designer, I worked across product photography, web, e-commerce, advertising, print and retail. I created the company’s product photography library through July 2013 and developed creative for launches, promotions and retail partnerships. The role extended into new product development, including custom retail-partner cases and vendor relationships as the company expanded beyond its original iPad case. Working across these disciplines gave me responsibility for the details of individual pieces and the consistency of the brand’s wider visual presence.
