HEROnet

HEROnet is GoPro’s internal network for employees. Previously HEROnet was a simple, text based library of Human Resource articles and reference articles for employees, with little imagery and no thought of user experience taken into consideration. The initiative to redesign HEROnet was a large one. With such a large amount of information several page templates had to be created to integrate an entirely new look and feel. The homepage of HEROnet transitioned into a more graphical layout, with higher level articles appearing at the top of the page, while calendar events and supporting articles lived below in a more digestible format. This platform also integrated into a system that tracked each employees year-end goals which I was able to leverage in a graphical chart on the HEROnet landing page. Features like this presented me with several design challenges of appropriate hierarchy, the filtering of information and restructuring site navigation, but also allowed HEROnet to evolve into the robust site it is today.
