Sony PlayStation embraced a rising trend to develop a mini-console system that allowed users to play legacy game titles, formatted to play on modern televisions. The design for this packaging was inspired by the original PlayStation released in December of 1994. Relationships with our counterparts in Japan were built as the game titles were finalized and approved for back of box display and design aesthetics were established to honor a timeless piece of technology with a twist of modern.
